| Porterfield Family by M.M. and Meryl A Place For The Cousins To Get and Keep In Touch |
| I have taken down the bulletin board. I will see if I can find one that doesn't require so much maintenance. Reunion 2007 News I think everyone had a really nice time this weekend. It was great to do some catching up on what everyone has been up to. A big THANKS to everyone who showed up to spend the weekend together. Send me your pictures (david@phillipsengraving.com) and I'll put an album of pictures up for everyone to see. For those of you who were not there, we didn't have a plan for activities and just went with what everyone decided to do. As I'm sure you can imagine, with our family, there was plenty of eating! Friday afternoon we all met around the hotel pool. All the hotel rooms had patio doors facing the pool and plenty of tables and chairs to sit and visit in. The Golden Door turned out to be a great place for a get together. Friday night we went to a restaurant called Stockton's on the advice of the lady at the hotel. She didn't steer us wrong. Carleen and Sheila had salads that were bigger than they are. Alan, Tom and I ended up sitting by the pool until 1:00AM telling stories and catching up. Saturday we all went across the street to Shoney's for breakfast. Ed showed up during breakfast and afterwards the Ladies all went to the Outlet Mall to do some shopping. When they got back, the kids all jumped into the pool and we had lunch meat and chips for lunch in the rec room. Sara was busy painting and decorating Lauren, Alex and Sam's nails, her room was a regular Beauty Shop. Later in the afternoon we all went to an arcade called Miner Mike's. Mom was the big winner, winning 2000 tickets on a Deal or No Deal game. That evening we went to Bandana's Bar-b-que for dinner. It was Tammy's birthday but I don't think we embarrassed her too much when the waiter announced it to everyone in the place. We ate way too much, so to work it off we decided to go play mini golf. I beat Alan by one stroke and no I didn't keep score but my wife did! We had a lot of fun playing and getting to see Alan climbing up into a hole to get his stuck golf ball out. A Kodak moment and no camera! Sunday morning we all packed up and went to the Cozy Cafe for breakfast before everyone went home. I hope everyone had as much fun as my family and I did and let's see if we can do this again before too many years pass. John David |
